Cool Stuff
Several people have been asking some questions about what I read, listen to, etc. Here are a few things that I think you will really enjoy.
Books:
Confessions of a Reformission Rev. - This book is incredible, hilarious, challenging, and just plain wierd. I loved it. So will you. (I read this book on my way to and from the Miami game and Devin read it in a few days when I got back)
True Faced - Challenging book that will make you re-think some of your thoughts on God and His view of you. (read this one several months ago and just saw it on my bookshelf when I was typing this thing)
The Dirty Little Secret - Not exactly the book I thought it was; however, it was an interesting perspective from a guy who believes he is called to reach those in the porn industry. (read it this weekend - very easy read)
The Emerging Church - Just started reading yesterday morning. Only a few chapters in - so far so good. I have some disagreements with McLaren that I know will surface; however, I haven't gotten that far into the book. I will let you know more later.
Podcasts:
Perry Noble - He is the pastor of Newspring church in Anderson, SC. He started that church around 6 years ago and they are already reaching over 5000 people per week. He is a cool guy - full of insight and very willing to help in any way that he can. I am bitter (not really) about the fact that he cancelled a meeting with me the other day for a few unknown guys named Bill Hybels, John Maxwell, and Joel Osteen.
Erwin McManus - He is the pastor of Mosaic in Southern California. This is an incredibly creative church with an incredibly creative pastor.
Check some of these things out. They will stretch you and keep you thinking.

I love Perry Noble and McManus is funny because of this outspoken College Republican President and Memphis so its hard to think about anyone other than him when im listening but that dirty little secret book i didn't like it that much but maybe cuz that is definitely not where my purpose is but it did reveal some things i didn't know and i know nothing about the rest of the stuff but i will try them at least love ya man!!!
